A new name

We’re finally doing it—after fifteen years as Bullock Lake Farm, we're evolving. Lost Field Farm, our new name, will encompass all of the branches of the farm - flowers, weddings, flower school, kids’ programming, our farm stand - the whole picture.

Here it is - the exact spot that inspired the new name.

We moved to Bullock Lake Farm, back when we were young farmers, full of energy and grit and a drive to bring this old farm back into production. We didn’t love the name, but we appreciated the history of the farm and leaned into it. We even used to host Bullock’s Bash, with white gloves and pearls to honour old Harry’s hosting legacy (and one of these days we’re bringing it back).

But still. The heavy sound and meaning, Bullock. It nagged. You would not believe how many winter hours we’ve spent thinking about new names—FOR 15 YEARS.

And then, finally, it was time. We needed something that better expresses the flower work we do, the programs and playfulness, events and weddings. You probably saw that we named our flower work separately last fall, but we don’t need two names—everything we do is connected. And so here we are: Lost Field Farm.

And, of course, someone stole our “u.” We weren’t even sad about it, which felt meaningful.

Why Lost Field?

We thought of it while admiring a field gone wild—lost to weeds, yes, but also full of texture and grace and seeds and potential. These edges are where our flower ideas come from. And a lost field is a field with history—once cultivated, gone back to meadow, found again.

It also reminds us of being lost in imagination, field-wandering, a tucked away place, wild play.

No name is perfect, but this one feels like a name that can grow with us. This land has had many names over the years, before and even after the Bullock era. Many of them we'll never know. We value that history, and we're glad to add ours to it.

So all this to say, welcome to Lost Field Farm. We’re the same but different.
