Flower School offers seasonal flower arranging workshops on Salt Spring Island.
Students harvest from the garden and learn natural, garden-inspired design techniques.
We’ll help you see potential everywhere, from weedy seed heads to hanging fruit. Every student has the opportunity to harvest and forage, following your own eye and developing your confidence to try new things. Our workshops are designed for all levels.

Field Workshops
A relaxed series of seasonal floral workshops held in the garden throughout the growing season. Each class begins with harvesting flowers from the field, followed by guided arranging in a relaxed small-group setting.

Special events in the barn studio, often with guest teachers. More in-depth design sessions with premium materials.

Field Workshop Series
Attend any three Field Workshops throughout the season and return to the garden as the flowers change from spring through late summer.

A lovely way to experience the farm across the season.
MAY
The earliest and lushest flowers of the season — tulips, ranunculus, narcissus, and peonies.
JUNE
A first taste of summer—cosmos, calendula, forget-me-nots, stock, and the drama of peonies and early dahlias.
JULY
The garden at full tilt—lush, rolling blooms in peak abundance. Delicate stems of foxglove, cosmos, and poppies bloom beside explosions of dahlias, sunflowers, and zinnias.
AUGUST
Harvest season—saturated colours, fruiting tomato vines, blackberry branches, and a riot of dahlias, snapdragons, zinnias, celosia.
SEPTEMBER
A golden finale to the season—deep-hued dahlias, rudbeckia, sunflowers, seedpods, grasses, and lavender anemones.
