Planning + details

A few of the questions we’re most often asked as couples begin planning their wedding at Lost Field Farm on Salt Spring Island.

What wedding options do you offer at Lost Field Farm?

Lost Field Farm offers three ways to celebrate:

The Venue — access to the farm, ceremony and reception spaces, essential rentals, and support from our venue team.

The Lost Field Wedding — our full-service wedding experience, including planning, coordination, florals by Lost Field Studio, staffing, bar service, and additional rentals.

The Hosted Weekend — our most complete offering, designed for couples looking for an extended celebration with additional gatherings and hosting throughout the weekend.

How many guests can you accommodate?

Lost Field Farm accommodates weddings of up to 150 guests. We also host intimate celebrations and elopements for up to 10 guests.

Where do guests stay?

Salt Spring Island has a wonderful range of nearby accommodation — we're happy to share recommendations after booking, and encourage booking early in peak season.

How do guests get to Salt Spring Island?

Salt Spring Island is easily reached by BC Ferries from Vancouver (Tsawwassen terminal) and Victoria (Swartz Bay terminal), with crossings running throughout the day. Most guests find the ferry crossing itself becomes part of the experience — a natural transition that sets the tone for the weekend. We're happy to share travel tips and timing recommendations after booking.

Do you offer planning support?

The Lost Field Wedding and Hosted Weekend include planning and coordination through our team. We guide the process, communicate with vendors, and manage the details so the celebration feels seamless.

For The Venue, couples work with their own professional planner or coordinator while our team manages the property and venue experience.

Are florals included?

Floral design is created on the farm through Lost Field Studio. Florals are included in The Lost Field Wedding and Hosted Weekend, and are available as an addition for couples booking The Venue.

Our designs reflect the season, the landscape, and what is growing here on the farm.

What happens if it rains?

The barn and tent provide beautiful covered reception spaces and flexible rain plans for ceremonies, cocktails, and dinner. We plan layouts that can shift easily with the weather.

Can we choose our own vendors?

We share a curated list of trusted Salt Spring Island and Vancouver Island wedding vendors after booking. Couples booking The Venue work directly with their vendor team, while our full-service weddings include more support with vendor coordination. Caterers are approved by our team to ensure a smooth experience on the farm.

What time does the celebration end?

Amplified music ends at 11pm. Many couples continue the evening at a nearby venue in town — we're happy to help coordinate the transition.

Do you host destination weddings?

Yes. Many of our couples travel from Vancouver, across Canada, and beyond to gather on Salt Spring Island. We help couples and their guests navigate the unique details of celebrating on the island.
